Working as a film facilitator on this project, I helped the students at Wilcannia Central School in outback NSW make this short film. Based on a dreamtime story, Kilapa Wura Kaani, this film is told in the Paakantji language and I’m very grateful to the elders for the opportunity to tell this story in their language.
Thanks also to my colleague Lou Glover, the staff and students of Wilcannia CS and the Wakakirri Festival for permission to reproduce the film.
